My client and her husband have had their house on the market since February.
They were getting nervous about being able to sell it, as they were ready to
buy a new, larger house, and no one had shown interest in her house in five
months.
As she and I discussed the house, she realized how much the house had meant
to her. Yet, she had not let herself think about this before. She had been
thinking about how they would "get out of it" (i.e., sell it so they could
move) partly because of her husband's influence of not liking the house. As
we talked about how much the house had meant to her, she was able to remember
all the good times there with family and friends.
Her coaching homework was to write a letter to the house thanking and
releasing it. She never did get to the homework. She didn't have to. A woman
(prospective buyer) showed up the next day who loved her house! After two
weeks and TWO offers, this woman bought the house.
This may seem like a coincidence. Having experienced many "shifts" such as
this one--I know that it is more than coincidence. (And so did my client!) My
client's talking about her feelings for her house and letting herself FEEL
AND RELEASE them created a shift that had a powerful effect.
She said, "It was great that someone else loved my house so much and could
share that with me." But it was HER loving her house that made the
difference.
(A week after this success, she and her husband found a house they both love
and made an offer!)
Small changes in awareness can have a large impact on an outcome.
Where could this process help you in your life?
